Following the result notification, the formal and substantive requirements are examined and the researcher responsible for them is informed about possible deficiencies that might exist. Based on the invention’s description presented in Annex I, a search report is conducted in patent databases free of charge.

Once the communication of results is duly completed, it is submitted to the Delegate Committee of the Governing Council in matters of intellectual property and copyright for the decision on the suitability of the protection in name of the University, as well as the method for the assumption of costs and sharing of benefits for it.

The researcher will be informed about the decision adopted by the Delegate Committee and the protection procedures are begun.
